Giving Back: Feeding the Frontlines

“Being part of a community is being active within the community” - Kevin Dowd

Feeding the Frontline came to us two weeks ago looking to provide LBJ Hospital with some Kolaches. Their mission is to support the local businesses while boosting the morale of our health workers fighting off this infectious virus.

However, this is only possible with the amazing support of the Houston community. Check them out @feedingthefrontlinehtx!

Giving Back: University of Houston Wolffest 2019

Thank you Wolff Center for Entrepreneurship for allowing the opportunity for us to participate in this wonderful event! We will be participating next year April 7-9 2020 from 10am-5pm at the Butler Plaza on campus - so make sure to come and check us out!

Wolffest has been a Spring tradition at The University of Houston since 2002. Teams of students from the Wolff Center for Entrepreneurship raise money for scholarships and student activities by running pop-up food stands in a three-day competition. Princeton Review named them the - the #1 Entrepreneurship program in the world: The Wolff Center for Entrepreneurship (Check out their announcement video!)

We had the pleasure of participating in this historic occasion as it was the first time every single one of the students was able to receive a scholarship! Thank you for allowing us the chance to give back to the community and students who also brought us to where we are today!

“Without help of wonderful and generous people like Kevin from the Original Kolache Shoppe, we wouldn’t have become the first in history where ALL of our students were able to get scholarships. Thank you!!”

Anamaris Cousins Price just drove 20 miles to get our Kolaches. We are so flattered that you loved us so much that you even wrote a review!

Our mission is to put smiles onto people’s faces and make them feel like they just walked into mama’s kitchen. Can’t wait to see your friendly face again!

“I've been hearing about this place for months now, particularly since I began my quest to find Houston's old eateries. The best thing is I was NOT disappointed!”

Thank you Brooke Viggiano for reviewing our Shoppe again! More specifically... Our warm and flaky Roast Beef Croissant.

It’s honestly one of my favorites as well.

“It only takes one bite to tell you that these guys know what they’re doing.”

G. Garvin heads to Houston, TX, for a reminder of what true Texas barbecue is. At Tin Roof, a family-friendly spot with live entertainment and a father/son team working the smokers, G. tastes a unique sandwich called the Texas Cheese Steak and tons of fixin's. For a quick sweet fix, G. visits the Original Kolache Shoppe who makes these Czech pastries like no other. Finally, for a new spin on barbecue, G. checks out the custom-made smokers at Pitmaker and joins owner Victor to make a perfect surf-n-turf.
